Two local businesses were fined in Livingston Municipal Court for failing to comply with township ordinances.

HSBC Bank at 45 South Livingston Avenue was found guilty of having more than the three signs permitted under a Planning Board decision. The bank was fined $250 along with court costs of $33.

Irving’s Deli on Route 10 was fined $100 and court costs of $33 for parking its box van in a position to be seen by cars on the highway. The van was considered an illegal sign.

Also in court this week, Janine Decter of 73 Winged Foot Drive faced a charge of allowing truancy. Her child, who attends Heritage Middle School, apparently missed 22 days of school.

its a fine line, i guess, between marketing your busibness in these brutal econimc times and breaking the law
