Madison, NJ – The Livingston Symphony Orchestra prepares to take you on a virtual tour of Europe as its 2008-2009 season draws to a close. The concert will be held on May 30 at Madison High School and begins at 7:30 pm.
The program, dubbed “A Musical Journey on the Orient Express,” features geographically inspired works from seven different composers. Tchaikovsky’s Capriccio Italien, Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody, Sibelius’ Finlandia, Smetana’s The Moldau, Chabrier’s Espana, Saint-Saens’ Danse Bacchanale, and Gliere’s Russian Sailor’s Dance will each be performed. Maestro Istvan Jaray, the creative mind behind the theme of the upcoming performance articulates, “This concert, filled with light classical pieces, is a joyous musical journey throughout Europe. Our audience should enjoy different country's music without the hassle of getting on a plane or using passports, just sit back and enjoy. I hope that it will be something like ‘icing on the cake’ as the finale of our season.”
Concert tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors, and are available at the door. Admission is free for children under 12 as well as all students in the Madison public school system.
