MANY OF LIVINGSTON’S FINEST attended the Monday evening meeting of the Township Council to show support for the two new police officers who took their oaths of office and received their badges on January 23. Township manager Michele Meade pinned badges on Joseph Santasieri and Brian T. Baker, shown above, who will both be assigned to the Patrol Division. Chief Craig Handschuch introduced the new officers. Brian Baker, a 2009 graduate of the Passaic County Police Academy, has served as both a corrections and a sheriff's officer with the Passaic County Sheriff's Department. Officer Baker, who resides in Pompton Lakes, is attending William Paterson College and is majoring in sociology and criminal justice. Officer Santasieri, a graduate of Livingston High School, still resides in Livingston. He was graduated from the Essex County Police Academy in February 2010 and has served with the Morris County prosecutor's office in the Grand Jury Unit as well as working in corporate security. Officer Santasieri holds a BA degree in justice studies from Montclair State University.
