Livingston Robotics Club Holds Expo; Teams Offer Robot Demonstrations

The Livingston Robotics Club held the Junior FIRST Lego League (Jr. FLL) Expo on May 29 during Youth Appreciation Week. Livingston teams from the FIRST Lego League (FLL) and First Tech Challenge (FTC), along with college robotics and engineering programs and a NASA engineer, held demonstrations at the exhibition.

Jr. FLL is a global robotics program for children ages six to nine sponsored by FIRST, an organization that holds robotics competitions for K-12 students. This Jr. FLL Expo was one of more than 40 expos held by local organizations throughout the United States, Canada and the Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg).
The Expo celebrated the end of the "Smart Move" season, which featured a transportation theme. The event was also held to encourage new participants to join for the new season, "Body Forward," which will begin in September. This year's theme will be biomedical engineering. The event attracted many participants and spectators from Bergen, Essex and Union Counties.
