Inaugural Deer Culling Program Declared Successful

The Livingston Township Council and administration have announced this week that the town’s inaugural Deer Management Program has been successfully concluded and that the size of the deer herd in this area has been reduced.

A culling program was conducted for the township by the United Bow Hunters of New Jersey (UBNJ), and made possible with the approval and cooperation of the City of East Orange and the East Orange Water Commission. The 2009-10 program, utilizing experienced bow hunters, was conducted between November 13, 2009 and the end of the regular state hunting season on February 20.
