An hour of sleep will be lost this weekend when Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday morning, March 14.
Clocks should be set forward one hour before retiring on Saturday night. For example, at 10 p.m., clocks should be reset to 11 p.m.
In addition to clocks and watches, the time change should be made on timers controlling recording devices, heating thermostats, microwave ovens, outdoor lighting, lawn sprinklers, water softeners, porch lights, computers, fax machines, stoves, coffee makers, clock-radios, cellular telephones, pagers and similar devices.
The Livingston Fire Department also reminds residents to check the batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
