“Atlantic City For Kids” Has Some Cool Stuff

In a previous posting, I wrote that I think Chuck E. Cheese is like Atlantic City for kids. Tokens, slots – it turns my kids into pint-sized gambling addicts.

Not that I don’t like it. The one on Route 10 in East Hanover added another floor; now the big kids go upstairs (which has a monitor you can see from downstairs) so it’s not as noisy and the little kids have more space. There are games I actually play. Plus, I honestly like CEC’s pizza and, especially, their salad bar.

In cruising their website recently (you can sign up there for emails that will yield coupons for some decent offers), I found a few more things I like. If you check out the CEC website (www.chuckecheese.com), click under Promotions. They have two promos worth taking advantage of:

1) Rewards Calendars – printable charts for stuff like Getting Dressed, Reading, Sleeping All Night, Manners, Not Thumb Sucking, and more! My 4-year old is quite into charts these days and the promise of 10 free tokens (you complete the chart and take it into CEC to get the reward) is really nice.
2) Tokens For Grades – bring in your kid’s latest report card and they can get 15 free tokens.

Now both promos are conditional upon the purchase of food. Ok, so I always buy a drink when I’m there. And if my kids are rewarded for good things, excellent! Now if CEC would only sell earplugs and aspirin, I'd be REALLY happy.
