Ash Wednesday Service of Reflection at Trinity Covenant Church

February 22, 2012 from 7:30pm to 8:15pm
"Ash Wednesday" is a day of penitence that marks the beginning of the Christian season of Lent.  Focusing on confronting the mortality of our own earthly bodies and the need to wait upon the Lord for the renewing of the Spirit, it is a particularly appropriate time for new beginnings in faith.  Wearing the ashes of our mortality, we embrace who we are yet to become by the grace of God.  All are welcome.See More

The Alpha Course is an internationally-known introduction to Christianity for adults who want to know more or feel like they've never really understood what it was about.  Beginning with an informal dinner on Thursday evenings beginning 9/29 at 6:30 pm, the Course is taught via DVD by Nicky Gumbel, who has made it famous around the world.  He's funny, self-deprecating and able to convey the concepts in a way that makes sense.  After the video, there's an open discussion in which no question is…See More

What does the Bible say about "hell" anyway? Class seeks answers.

What does the Bible say about “hell”?  A new book coming out later this month raises the issue (Love Wins, by Rob Bell), along with much controversy.  Does what the culture thinks Christians believe about hell line up with the scriptures?  We will explore these issues at 10 am beginning March 20 at Trinity Covenant Church.  For more information, email the pastor at TrinityLivingstonPastor@verizon.net.See More

Mission Statement:

YOU ARE WELCOME!

We are a group from all ages and walks of life who have heard God’s call through Jesus Christ to serve God and to care for people.

Because God accepts us just as we are, all of us expect to grow together as God challenges us to become the people He has called us to be.

We are a congregation made up of people from Livingston and many surrounding towns. We focus on both Jesus' Great Commission -- "go and make disciples" -- and His Great Commandment -- "love your neighbor as yourself."

There is room in our congregation for those who have differing views (i.e., adult or infant baptism, biblical inerrancy, political affiliation), along with a serious commitment to Jesus as personal Lord and Savior. No matter where you are on your journey, you are truly welcome here. Trinity is a church where we engage hearts, minds and hands.

We offer you a place in a family of people on a journey of a lifetime. We would love to have you walk with us.

We are located at 343 E. Cedar St., Livingston NJ

You can call us at 973-992-4044 or e-mail us at:

Your Old Phone Can Be a Lifeline

For each discarded cell phone collected, a donation will be made that will provide cell phones to community health workers in the developing world, allowing them to connect their patients with a distant clinic.  A $10 cell phone provided to a health care worker will give 50 families access to emergency medical care, health information, transport services and clinic resources.

The average donated phone in the US provides for 2-3 cell phones for clinics.

Excerpts from Trinity Folks About the Beginning of Their Journeys with Jesus:

Posted on May 18, 2009 at 3:49pm 0 Comments

~I feel as though I have known Jesus all of my life – but the first time I truly gave my life to Jesus was at church camp – I was 11 years old. I had a very good room counselor and she really talked and explained it all to us girls. I had heard it all before but had never truly committed myself to Jesus. My life did not change, as my parents – Mom and Dad – were both true born again Christians and my home life showed that.

~I had a very strong temper, and I always argued with my mom.… Continue
