VOTE APRIL 20

Through a relationship of mutual support between school and community, the Township of Livingston has a long standing tradition of providing opportunities for our students in order for them to meet their full potential as life-long learners and contributing members of society in the global work force. Livingston values the public schools as one of its greatest assets!

Many of us moved here because of the excellent school system. Although we have recently participated in an arduous budget process resulting in extraordinary cuts, on a positive note, the Proposed School Budget for 2010-2011 continues to maintain many of the core values that we have come to expect from the Livingston Public Schools!

This budget will continue to provide full day kindergarten, maintaining class size in grades 1-5, a nurse at each complex, teaming at the middle schools, maintaining class sizes in Core offerings of English, Math, Science, Social Studies, robust course elective offerings at LHS/HMS/MPMS, strong HS science program, and freshman, JV and varsity levels of athletic competition at LHS.

An outstanding school system in turn protects home values and supports an economic climate that preserves professional, leisure and commercial businesses.

A continued mutual commitment between school and community to make available opportunities for our children’s educational success and advancement insures that Livingston will remain a place of distinction, producing world-class leaders in the sciences, arts, politics, communications and business while maintaining a strong community.

On Tuesday, April 20, it is more important than ever that you vote in the Annual School Election. The polls will be open from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Go to www.livingston.org and click on 2010-2011 Budget Information to learn more about the budget. If you have questions or concerns, contact the District’s Manager of Communications and Community Outreach, Jess Ganz directly at jganz@livingston.org or 973-535-8000, ext. 8036.
