Barangay of the Virgin posted a blog postBarangay of the Virgin (USA) started in early 1985 in Livingston, NJ. Through the relentless effort, devotion and dedication of the first few people visited by the Blessed Mother, a large donation from the devotees was received. This enabled the formation of the Barangay of the Virgin, Inc. (USA) on October 28, 1985. The two main purposes of the Barangay of the Virgin USA are: 1) Charitable, and 2) Religious as described in the Certificate of Incorporation.
The Barangay USA is an outgrowth of the Barangay Sang Virgen (Philippines). Both organizations are independent of each other but have the same objective of spreading the devotion of the Blessed Mother by praying the Holy Rosary. However, Barangay USA has an additional purpose of receiving donations and distributing these to the less fortunate people in the Philippines.
God has bestowed so many blessing to our organization. Successful programs, memorable activities and good hearted people. We welcome all new members and are sincerely grateful for our current members who help in carrying out our mission.
Virgin of the Barangay
(Virgin of the Community)
Our Father in heaven/ through Your Son, Jesus,/
His Mother Mary,/ became our Mother too,/
Our Virgin of the Barangay.
Grant that through Her powerful intercession/
we may obtain strength in our weakness,/
forgiveness for our sins,/ peace in our families,/
healing in our illness,/ guide us to come
closer to you,/ the source of all life and holiness.
As we respond to our Mother’s call at Fatima/
to pray the most Holy Rosary in our families,/
may we experience Her loving care/
so that we may stay happily united,/
our children lovingly guided,/
our elderly graciously attended,/
and our communities safely protected,/
This we ask through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
