Livingston residents Carmine and Lisa Torella have purchased the Green Valley Beach Family Campground near Newton. The newly renamed Great Divide Campground opened May 18. Former Livingston resident Jan Weinberg Hudson has been named campground director.

Dr. Brad Draeger,

superintendent of the Livingston schools, delivered the keynote address at the 26th annual New Jersey Technology and Engineering Educators’ Association Technology (NJTEEA) Conference and Expo on Friday, May 11. With help from Jim Novotny, technology education supervisor; Kenny Zushma, Heritage Middle School technology education teacher and executive director of the NJTEEA; and other members of the Livingston public schools’ Technology Education Department; as well as Livingston High School senior Josh Samuels, Dr. Draeger presented a 13 minute video abut Livingston's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education.

In other school news, Zushma was also a runner-up in the DiscoverE Educator Awards, presented to educators "who are inspiring tomorrow’s innovation generation." In addition, Laura Gordon, a mathematics teacher at Mt. Pleasant Middle School, was recently inducted into the National Association of Graduate-Professional Students for academic excellence and leadership.

Attorney Susan R. Rubright, a partner in the environmental and land use and real estate practice groups at the law firm Brach, Eichler, has been named "Outstanding Lawyer of the Year" by the Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women.

Prudential New Jersey Properties’ West Essex Regional office in Verona was host to a Shred-It event with the company’s Livingston and Montclair offices on Saturday, May 12, to help support the Sunshine Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated tohelping children with cancer. The three offices raised about $3,200.
