District 9 comes out today (Aug 14). Heard great reviews about this movie. Can't wait to see it.

I haven't seen a really good movie, the kind you feel, experience and remember forever, in a very long time. Everything seems recycled, formulaic and another showcase for special effects freaks. Where is the cinema?

Ha! Plastics. Funny. Through the years, GOODFELLAS has remained my favorite movie, along with Shawshank. That's going to be hard to top.

John Hughes was a real genius! Some great movies! We still laugh just thinking about Ferris Bueller's Day Off! It is a sad day! What a tragic ending to a brilliant movie-maker.

Can we take a moment to remember the genius of John Hughes. Some of my most favorite movies are his. Home Alone, Ferris Bueller, Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles (Long Duk Dong), Uncle Buck, Breakfast Club and so many more. Even Curly Sue! He was truly the ultimate teen movie maker. I may have to make it a John Hughes weekend and rent some of these classics.

I loved Braveheart! I must have seen it in the theatre at least 12 times. I have it on laserdisc at home. Not too familiar with Blu Ray. Is it really that much of a difference?

I'm surprised you're not banning me from your group...although The Graduate is much better in Blu Ray. Mrs. Robinson's legs are not so grainy in 1080P and Simon and Garfunkel in DTS-HD Master Audio sounds amazing.
