I remember when St Phil's was over near the center of town, and then Father McCann built the current St Phil's Church, school, rectory and convent.  All of my brothers, all seven of them, went to St Phil's and we all remember Sister Dorett, Mrs Bersey, the play ground having a boys side and a girls side, Sr. Thomas Aquinas playing ball in the play ground and throwing the ball better than most of the boys, standing up when an adult came to the door and of course, Father Vincents fried baloney sandwiches.  We all went to midnight mass, some of my brothers were alter boys, we received our first holy communion and confirmations and yes, the live nativity scene at Christmas.  Good memories!

If anyone is interested, Aquinas Academy will be hosting its annual tricky tray on Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Hanover Manor. It is a great night and we would love to see some alumni attend! Please email Diane Russo at with any questions. Thank you!

Class of 1962. We didn't realize it at the time, but we were getting a top flight education. We also came away with a strong sense of right and wrong, a true rarity.

Class of 1962. Was it really that long ago? Sister Helen George, the Baltimore Catechism, Madonna Hall, First Fridays and kids fainting in church from lack of food, Stations of the Cross, Hail Virgin Dearest Mary and Crowning the Statue...
memories! My favorite memory is of Sister Conceila getting so angry she pounded the blackboard and it fell off the wall. Everyone wanted the job of going outside and clapping the erasers at the end of the day. Usually the boys got to do that, but every once in a while a girl got the job. And whatever happened to Pagan Babies and the Bishops Relief Fund?

Best memories are winning the first basketball trophy in St. Phil's history with coach Muoio and breakdancing during our school song contest!
